Role and Responsibilities
1. Managing UK and global engagements including compliance engagements and consulting engagements.
2. Overseeing service delivery including reviewing and signing off advice, adhering to SLAs and KPIs, caseworking on an as needed basis.
3. Advising on complex cross-border immigration issues, including post Brexit, the impact of Covid on travel and working from anywhere.
4. Identifying opportunities to use technology to solve clients’ problems and improve client service delivery, co-managing the rollout of new technology to clients.
5. Participating in client proposals and presentations, identifying and maximise new opportunities across various business sectors in the UK and overseas.
6. Team management: identifying the team’s training and development requirements, ensuring the team receives sufficient support and coaching. Taking on a Performance Manager role and contributing to the team’s overall development.
7. Risk and Finances: Managing client onboarding, contracting, pricing, WIP management and billing.

Experience Required
This is a growing team and the role will suit an ambitious immigration professional with the desire and ability to play an important role in continuing that growth. There will be an expectation that the successful applicant will help promote the team’s work through participating in team and firm events, giving internal and external presentations, and producing articles for publication. The successful applicant will be organised and efficient, able to produce consistently high-quality work within demanding time frames but not afraid to ask questions to challenge or seek clarification when appropriate. Role and responsibilities:



You will help the team with the following service offerings:
(i) Early legal and technical input into potential disputes with HMRC.
(ii) Reviewing a variety of ideas and situations and appraising for litigation risk.
(iii) Litigation in the Tax Tribunals, High Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and ECJ


This will include:


(i) First drafts of pleadings such as notices of appeal and witness statements.
(ii) First draft correspondence, advice and reports.

Education and qualifications:



The applicant will be a litigation lawyer with experience in litigation and/or tax dealing with commercial clients.
In addition, a successful applicant will have the ability to get up to speed quickly on technical matters and be keen to continue developing his/her legal skills and engage in new areas of work.
The applicant must be able to demonstrate his/her ability to build relationships with across KPMG or with clients. Good relationship building skills and organisation skills are essential skills as a high level of collaboration with the rest of the firm will be required for the role.

Experience Required:



It is expected that the successful applicant will be a qualified solicitor with strong, demonstrable PQE experience.

What the key responsibilities of the role are:

- Managing our core annual service and ad hoc support services for a broad portfolio of clients, with the support of a junior member of the team
- Acting as relationship manager for your portfolio of clients, including regular communications, hosting update calls/meetings and obtaining/reviewing feedback for improvement in services
- Reviewing legal documents and Companies House forms prepared by junior team members relating to annual filing requirements and routine company changes
- Supporting clients and internal colleagues with complex company secretarial matters, including changes to share capital structure, share capital reductions, dividends and company restorations
- Working alongside our corporate legal teams to support with the corporate secretarial aspects of complex corporate transactions
- Providing board and committee support to clients from a wide range of sectors, including the use of board portal systems

Role & Responsibilities:

• Early Legal Input into Tax Advice – providing our clients with tax advice that has already been reviewed by lawyers
• Implementation of Tax Advice – providing our clients with a simple and cost-effective way of successfully implementing our tax advice

Experience Required

The applicant must have a high level of technical knowledge with regards to UK corporate and contract law. In addition, a successful applicant will have the ability to get up to speed quickly on esoteric areas and be keen to continue developing his/her legal skills and engage in new areas of work.

Roles and Responsibilities:







Building and developing positive business relationships within and outside KPMG
Assessing problems from multiple angles to ensure that our clients have comprehensive commercial law advice to support their decision-making
Working collaboratively to devise and driving forward creative legal solutions for clients
Providing our clients with a seamless multi-disciplinary legal implementation service on national and global projects

Qualifications and Skills:







The applicant will be a commercial lawyer with experience of information technology law and agreements. The applicant will have experience in contractual drafting and negotiation gained on national and international projects, across a range of disciplines including:






Outsourcing arrangements (both ITO and BPO)
Software licensing, IT services and IT infrastructure arrangements (including public cloud and data centre arrangements)
IP licensing and also research and development agreements
The applicant should also have sufficient data protection experience to draft and advise on data transfer, data processor and data-sharing agreements.
Applicants who have some but not all of the above experience will still be considered.

The applicant must be a qualified lawyer with at least 4 years PQE
