The role
We are looking for a Manager to join our FO&PC team in our London US Private Client Practice.
This is primarily an advisory role requiring either an experienced Assistant Manager or a recently promoted Manager with significant previous US private client experience. More specifically your responsibilities will include:

- You will be required to support in building a practice from scratch (albeit a small amount of compliance work exists it is anticipated you will support the transition from an existing team sat within the Global Mobility Practice)

- Ensuring the delivery of a high quality personal tax service to our clients;

- Managing a portfolio of complex and diverse clients, including partnerships and non-UK domiciled individuals, and being able to provide personal tax advice on a wide range of assignments including inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax and particularly identifying opportunities to advise your portfolio of clients in relation to these taxes;

- Providing original and creative thinking to solve tax problems, frequently leading to providing wholly bespoke tax advice and solutions on one-off assignments;

- Project managing tax advisory assignments to ensure deadlines, risk management and compliance procedures are all met;

- Managing work in progress and ensuring prompt billing and cash collection;

- Overseeing the performance and career development of partly and newly qualified staff.


Qualifications and Skills

Candidates interested in this role should have the following skills and qualifications:

-Qualified accountant or tax specialist with experience of working in a similar environment with experience of US Private Clients and varied advisory assignments.

-Academically strong results in career to date coupled with a deep technical understanding of the issues affecting private clients and partnerships.

You will be expected to participate in bringing new offerings to the market helping to develop new areas and ensuring a good flow of work to the group as a whole.

Qualifications and Skills






Senior Manager candidates should have a proven technical track record but this is just a part of what we are looking for. In addition you should have:-






• Appropriate professional qualification e.g. ACA/ACCA/CTA or equivalent.

• Previous experience of working in management positions
and experience of working in a similar environment with experience of US Private Clients and varied advisory assignments


• Excellent technical specialist knowledge and expertise on all matters relating to tax returns and self-assessment including aspects relevant to US citizens based in the UK.

The Role

What are we looking for in the successful candidate?

The successful candidate will ideally
• Be technically qualified (CTA/ICAS/ICAEW or a solicitor with relevant tax experience) with client-facing experience in FO&PC and some tax policy experience would be beneficial
• Have a strong attention to detail and high personal standards for delivering high quality work on time
• Have a real interest in tax and the potential implications for KPMG and our clients of the many developments and changes that are taking place
• Enjoy researching and analysing tax law and cases
• Be able to understand complex tax technical issues quickly, to a level where they can communicate them clearly to audiences of differing experience and expertise

The Role



This role is to join our UK Healthcare practice as a Director focused on the growth of our private healthcare provider improvement account. The role is based in the UK within our Infrastructure, Government and Health (IGH) Operational Transformation (OT) capability.



As a Director in our growing Private Healthcare practice, you will be central to the development of our account strategy as well as implementation of private sector service reform, sustainable performance improvement and transformation programmes. Our growth ambitions are significant and we continue to grow our market share in the private provider improvement market through our Operational Excellence approach, which blends global market-leading tools, techniques and practice with deep-rooted provider experience and insight. Your role is to help us to continue to grow our private provider client base through account development, supported by your experience of working within a private provider (through either a consultancy or substantive role). In addition to existing client relationships and insight, you will ensure the delivery of exceptional client outcomes through continued leadership and development of our team. Knowledge and understanding of:

- The changing healthcare landscape across the English private health sector and NHS, informed by substantive service in either the private sector or NHS






- Knowledge and understanding of private sector and NHS policy, structures (regulation, commissioning and providers), and standards





Experience of:

- Several years’ experience of delivering Healthcare provider improvement projects, gained either through NHS or consultancy roles



- Engaging private sector and broader health and social care system stakeholders in the UK and aligning them behind agreed vision and strategic objectives






Leadership
– the role will help to lead, recruit and build a diverse UK based private health provider improvement team. The successful candidate will need to leverage teams from existing capabilities to work in this market, including capabilities developed in the public healthcare market, as well as build a dedicated market facing group of specialists from across aligned healthcare proposition teams.

Global Impact –
