We are now looking for a talented Tax Manager with UK corporate tax experience to join us here.

This role can be based in Glasgow, Birmingham or Manchester

You will be able to demonstrate exceptional tax compliance skills, the ability to work to tight deadlines and produce a first class product ready for issue to our clients.

This will involve working closely with tax professionals based in all of KPMG’s UK offices, along with our offshore partners (who manage processing aspects), to deliver a seamless service to our clients.

The Role

Roles and Responsibilities

• Maintain a portfolio of clients and take responsibility for ensuring their tax computations are prepared to a high standard, on a timely basis and finalised and submitted to HMRC within agreed deadlines.
• Oversee the work of assistant managers, providing coaching and technical guidance as part of the overall review process.
• Work with the KPMG local office teams nationally and/or the client directly to understand the requirements at the start of each compliance cycle and ensure that these are reflected in the final computation and return.
• Potential visits to clients/ local offices when appropriate.
• On more complex clients, act as the main point of liaison with the client to obtain additional information if required, feeding back to the tax computation preparers to enable them to provide an updated draft computation for subsequent review.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, preparing technical analysis and involving specialists as appropriate to prepare or review analysis.
• Carry out a full manager review of computations and other deliverables prior to sending to clients and HMRC.
• Provide advice and support to the KPMG local office team and/or client, as requested, including for example providing assistance in the drafting of responses to HMRC correspondence and preparing tax accounting disclosures.
• Develop and maintain relationships and liaise with KPMG local office teams and our offshore partners.
• Work with client administrators to ensure client administration and risk procedures are completed appropriately, liaising with KPMG local office teams as needed.
• Identify opportunities to identify additional services that the client may need and liaise with subject specialists.

This role offers the flexible option of working from home for part of the work week and we will consider candidates based nationally.

The Operational Excellence Hub, however, is based in our Watford offices and the role holder will be expected to attend the office once or twice per week.

This senior role play a pivotal role in the delivery of the OEH strategy and deliverables. You will be responsible and empowered to manage the relationships with all our outsource providers of OEH services. You will drive a customer centric and continuous improvement culture across the operation, helping to develop and achieve our overall managed service strategy within KPMG Business Services.

You will manage 3rd party providers, ensuring the service provision is delivered in line with our agreed contracts and the best way to support our overall vision of creating an excellent experience for our colleagues, whilst operating within a controlled and governed framework. You will develop and have overall responsibility to manage the service delivery and ensuring agreed SLAs are met and achieved within the OEH budget. — Oversee and ensure timely and a high level of service is continually provided from the shared service operation and our 3rd party providers (approximately 220 personnel). Driving capability across the operation with a robust and sustainable development programme in place for all colleagues and management roles.
— Respond to customer feedback, dealing with escalations and take a strategic approach to ensure that root causes are established to prevent recurrence.
— Build and develop close working relationships with key stakeholders and senior leadership teams both in the providers, OEH, KBS and beyond to support a quality service culture. Pro-active management of all stakeholders, especially the expectations of leaders and management within the organisation (including senior management and partners).
— You will be required to manage relationships with leadership; demonstrate influential and adaptable style of leadership and maintain integrity when dealing with complex and significantly difficult situations arising from risk, issue and change management.

The Team

Our Corporate Treasury Services team is focused on serving the world's leading Corporate Treasuries with their most complex business challenges, and is currently experiencing an exceptional rate of growth. The team offer deep treasury expertise in financial products and markets, risk management, systems, governance, valuation and accounting, and work closely with other high impact functions within KPMG such as Audit, Risk Consulting and Management Consulting to provide a wide range of treasury advisory and audit services, including:

- Undertaking reviews and implementations of Treasury strategies, policies, target operating models, cash management processes, and technology and systems
- Risk management assessments including foreign exchange, interest rate, credit and commodities
- Providing specialist support to external audit teams, including derivative valuations, hedge accounting, and financial instrument classifications
