The Team


The Financial Services Technology Risk Consulting team is focused on providing consultancy, advice and assurance on our clients' technology risks and controls. The market is evolving at pace and innovating, whilst embracing the digital age. We are building out our team to advise clients on emerging and legacy technology risks and controls. We are focused on project and programme risk, operational and technology resilience, technology risk and control, impact of regulatory change on data and technology and third party risk management. All underpinned by analytics. We deliver our work through collaborative consulting projects, focused on risk and control assurance, as well as projects with 2nd and 3rd lines of defence.

The Role


• Communicating compelling and well thought out solutions to complex problems
• Building constructive working relationships across different teams, functions, countries or cultures
• Developing lasting client relationships and actively building a network and range of experience to help address client needs
• Provide compelling and well thought out solutions to problems of moderate complexity
Work with Partners, Directors and team in the Emerging Technology Risk areas - including AI / machine learning, cloud and digital
Lead and deliver technology risk services to the Financial Services sector focused on risk and controls
Conduct risk and control assessments on client projects when they are implementing new and advanced technology
Define a risk and control methodology and framework to use in conducting risk assessments
Link into global and cross industry working groups to share knowledge
Identify revenue-generating opportunities and get involved in business development activities such as proposal writing, pitch presentations
Build and develop relationships with key internal and external contacts to embed risk and control into other propositions
Develop a go to market approach and materials to support
Create thought leadership and participate in market forums to enhance KPMG’s brand

We also work closely alongside other specialist technology teams in IT Consulting such as our CIO Advisory, Cyber and Data Analytics teams. The role:



- Managing delivery of IT Internal Audit services in the IGH Sector.
- Taking responsibility for the overall output from client engagements including scoping, financial management, managing delivery risk, production, quality and review of deliverables.
- Building and maintaining excellent relationships across a range of clients and prospects.
- Actively identifying and progressing business development opportunities, and supporting the team with sales activities such as proposal writing and assisting with client presentations.
- Participating in service line growth, reporting to the service line leader on progress of development, sales and delivery.
- Developing internal networks and maintaining excellent relationships with colleagues across KPMG, in particular in the sector and also wider IT Advisory practice.

The Role


You will join a great team and take a proactive role in delivering engagements to senior staff within our clients. You will have the opportunity to provide advice across the Technology sourcing and IT transformation lifecycle from sourcing strategy, operating model development, procurement and transition, in to post deal services and contract value assurance.


Typical client delivery work will include the following activities:
Typically Managers in our Technology Sourcing practice lead workstreams as part of wider programmes, reporting into a Senior Manager. Responsibilities can include:
• Supporting the development of proposed operating models, sourcing strategies, roadmaps, implementation plans and robust business cases for the functional areas of IT and transformational change programmes
• Assisting clients through the supplier selection process through to procurement and contract signature.
• Supporting the development of planned service scope, service levels and establishing the contract and service delivery governance framework for future state operations.
• Supporting the client through the service transition and IT operating model transformation process. Taking on key roles overseeing and managing transformation and transition activities.

• Service provider: experience in a service provider environment, typical roles might include Service Delivery Manager, Transition Manager, Solution Manager.
• Consultancy: experience in IT/sourcing/Service Management.


Experience in some or all of the following areas would be desirable:
• Experience with the content of outsourcing contracts, best practice in this area and the process for negotiating a sourcing contract.
• A point of view on how technology sourcing and operating models need to adapt as a result of the impact of recent technology changes such as, but not restricted to, Cloud, Agile or Automation.
• Experience of running IT sourcing processes, either for run services or system selection.
• Good foundation and understanding of the IT Function of a large organisation
• Knowledge of one or more of the following services:

• Proven experience of successfully managing and delivering large Audit Analytics portfolios to financial services industry clients either within a Big 4 firm or a large Financial Services Institution

• Proven experience in accounting / auditing (e.g. CISA) / risk qualification

• Proven experience in an IT risk and control / audit environment

• Proven experience in Data Analytics (SQL, SAS, Idea, ACL)

• Proven experience using Data Visualisation tools (Tableau, QlikView / Qlik Sense, Power BI, Spotfire)

• Proven experience working with Data Science tools (R, Python, Octave)

• Proven experience of managing Audit Analytics portfolios in FS sector with an experience of leading large teams
