Job description

UK Digital Workplace Product Owner – Microsoft Power Platform

 

Are you an expert in managing the deployment and use of Microsoft’s low-code solution development tools, and how they enable AI, productivity and efficiency in the enterprise? Do you have experience of managing the governance and controls around these tools to enable agility and innovation in solution development while managing risk and compliance in a large enterprise?

 

We’re looking for an experienced internal product owner who can drive the successful implementation and adoption of Microsoft Power Platform in KPMG UK, alongside other Digital Workplace (M365) products.  

 

Our product owners manage the roadmap, governance, compliance, knowledge and commercial elements of solutions owned and delivered by the Digital Workplace – equipping UK colleagues with the tools and information they need to leverage technology to deliver value for our clients and internally.

 

The role is part of our Product Ownership team within Digital Workplace, part of our Enterprise-Wide Technology (EWT) Capability.

 

The team

 

KPMG’s award-winning Digital Workplace team are responsible for all end user tools which provide the ability to connect, collaborate and communicate.  Microsoft is at the heart of our enterprise stack with M365, Teams and a Windows Desktop providing a large portion of the estate.  

 

There are several key transformation programmes ongoing within Digital Workplace, including enhancements to the network, desktops, facilities technology and our AI capability. We also have a BAU roadmap of enhancements to our live products, aligned to our evolving business technology requirements. All deliveries are underpinned by security, risk, and compliance and supported by our Service Operations team.

 

The Role

 

  • Lead point of contact for all activities relating to the successful use and operation of the applicable Digital Workplace products (primarily Microsoft Power Platform: Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI and Power Pages).
  • Working with AI CoE and AI Enablement programme, alongside our Architecture, Risk and Security teams, to maintain and manage the operational processes relating to the development, deployment and management of Power Platform solutions
  • Working with the technical team within Digital Labs to assess, configure, manage and implement new technologies and updates/changes
  • Own and manage product roadmaps in collaboration with Digital Labs, Service Delivery, Strategy & Architecture, Security, Desktop, Facilities, and Global product teams
  • Support delivery of product enhancements/upgrades and new solutions within KPMG’s Programme and Project Management framework, led by Digital Transformation team
  • Maintain vendor relationships and manage licensing and budgeting for applicable products alongside procurement and vendor management teams
  • Deliver and maintain/monitor adoption of Digital Workplace products across the target KPMG functions alongside Adoption team and Digital Ninja community
  • SME for business requirements and use cases for applicable DW products – has in depth knowledge of product capabilities, how they support KPMG business processes and how they must be configured, deployed, and managed in KPMG’s environment
  • Maintain relationships with KPMG Capability and Coverage teams to ensure business requirements are understood and addressed by technology
  • Manage and maintain security and compliance of Digital Workplace products, and KPMG and client data within them, aligned to KPMG security, legal and risk requirements – in collaboration with Information Assurance team
  • Ensuring Digital Workplace products are effectively supported by our Service Delivery teams, and collaborating with Service Delivery to ensure knowledge capture/transfer and problem resolution
  • Working with service integration lead ensure that support contracts for Digital Workplace technology are sufficient to meet business needs and ensure no gaps exist.

  • A strong communicator: clear, high level and precise. Challenging where appropriate to ensure your projects move in the right direction, and able to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Has a passion to improve the way we collaborate, communicate, and connect with each other – enabled by technology.
  • Strong stakeholder management and excellent at building relationships across the business and interacting with and adapting to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent at balancing multiple concurrent workstreams and priorities.
  • Demonstrates curiosity and open-mindedness to new ideas approaches and perspectives.

 

Experience / Skills

 

  • Clear understanding of the value of Digital Workplace tools and Power Platform in particular; how they support KPMG business objectives and drive outcomes, and how they complement and align/integrate with other business technology and processes
  • 5 years plus experience of owning and managing collaboration and SaaS products – ideally solution development tools – preferably in a professional services or large matrix organisation context
  • Influencing skills; able to drive and effect business change, encourage new behaviours and use of new tools / new approaches to business challenges – including working with team leads and their teams, our developers, and our Digital Ninjas, to disrupt traditional ways of working
  • Understanding of the regulatory and risk/security considerations involved in developing, implementing and running technology services at KPMG
  • Strong business analysis skills, demonstrating understanding of stakeholder needs, translating them into tangible requirements and prioritising conflicting needs and requirements.
  • A strong knowledge of Teams and the other collaboration tools in the M365 suite
  • History of mentoring and developing people
  • Proven track record of managing projects and overseeing multiple tracks of work to deliver on time and meet requirements
  • Experience of working with and co-ordinating a distributed team, or an offshore organisation
  • A good understanding of KPMG’s business and structure will be an advantage
