Job description

Our Infrastructure Advisory Group (IAG) advises major public and private sector infrastructure and asset-intensive organisations across all sectors, including Natural Resources, Energy, Power, Utilities, Transport, Oil and Gas, Defence, Health and Education. We are strengthening our Strategic Delivery Partner capability to meet increasing demand from these organisations in support for how to use data, analytics and technology to unlock value from their assets and infrastructure. This is a fast-growing area offering exciting opportunities, building upon our global capabilities in Infrastructure, Asset Management and Data Analytics. We are seeking an ambitious and innovative professional who is passionate about infrastructure and technology, with the skills and desire to combine the two to drive improvements for our clients.

 

The next decade will see unprecedented growth across infrastructure, power and utilities. In parallel, these industries have significant delivery and operations challenges including pace of delivery, cost escalations, supply chain issues and skills shortages.

 

Without good partners to aid delivery, our clients are at risk of failing to deliver, with potential regulatory penalties that could wipe out shareholder returns and damage reputation. Clients need support in navigating these complex challenges, transforming their organisations, digitising their operations and driving efficiency.

 

We are building our Strategic Delivery Partner capability to support Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure clients in responding to these challenges. Our team includes skills and competencies across Regulation, Strategy, Project Finance, Capital Delivery, Asset Management and Operations. We are investing in next-generation technology and AI to transform the way we advise and support our clients across these areas.

We are seeking an ambitious and innovative professional who is passionate about infrastructure and technology, with the skills and desire to combine the two to drive value and achieve better outcomes for our clients.


You will take a leading role in growing and delivering the Asset Management and supporting technologies for the Strategic Delivery Partner team, building relationships with senior management in client organisations and identifying and developing business opportunities. You will lead our relationships with leading solution providers of Enterprise Asset Management Systems and other digital Asset Management solutions.


Build client relationships to understand their current and future client challenges and the role of Asset Management and Technology in addressing these
Mobilise and manage cross-functional teams to deliver engagements for our clients 

 

  • Take a leading role in KPMG’s global Asset Management and InfraTech networks
  • Lead relationships with our key Alliance Partners around Enterprise Asset Management Systems and the wider ecosystem of digital Asset Management solutions
  • Engagement Management of project teams to deliver medium-large (or complex) client engagements.
  • Manage business winning activities, including opportunity identification and proposal development.
  • Management of quality and risk on engagements to meet KPMG standards.
  • Financial management of engagements including budgeting, reporting and invoicing processes.
  • Performance Management and mentoring of IAG employees
  • Client facing role for both business development and delivery, including stakeholder management and workshop facilitation.
  • Liaise with technical teams on the client side to support productionising of proof of concepts.
  • Change management of client teams to embed solutions and supporting processes.
  • Develop internal networks with other data, analytics and technology teams in KPMG

The Person

  • Essential Experience
  • Business development and delivery in relevant sectors
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and present complex concepts clearly and effectively
  • Experience of advising on technology strategies and/or deploying data, analytics and technology solutions in an infrastructure or asset-intensive organisation
  • Broad understanding and interest in multiple infrastructure industry sector
  • Understanding and experience of Enterprise Asset Management Systems and the digital solutions landscape in Asset Management
  • Deep knowledge of at least one industry within construction, transport, power, utilities and defence.
  • Demonstrable experience of innovative thinking

Desirable expereince 

  • Experience of delivering projects within a disruptive sector, such as a technology start-up
  • Experience of delivering Asset Intelligence, Digital Twin or Smart Buildings projectsExperience in managing consultancy or client facing assignments
  • Experience working on complex change programmes with a significant technology element
  • Experience building business cases for funding for systems and technology
    Skills
  • Problem solver with the ability to navigate complex business challenges and secure stakeholder buy-in 
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to bring complex data, analytics and technology concepts to life for non-specialist audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple projects for multiple stakeholders and balance time across these appropriately
