We help our clients solve real-world challenges across various sectors including government, infrastructure and any asset-centric organisation. Our work centres on helping our clients manage their real, physical assets – we help shape how some of the world’s most important infrastructure is built and managed.

Our team plays a key role in some of the most exciting and important projects across both private and public sector entities, principally those with major capital and infrastructure portfolios in Transport, Power & Utilities, Defence, Oil and Gas. This is a fast-growing area offering many opportunities building upon a global capability in Asset Management where we provide:

  • Driving improved performance of assets and our clients’ overall businesses through Operating Model Design and Business Transformation
  • Strategic asset investment planning and optimisation including development of regulated and non-regulated business plans
  • Efficiency programmes covering both capital and operating expenditure
  • Asset health and portfolio resilience support including maintenance planning and modernisation
  • Internal assurance and peer review of key business processes
  • Investor assurance of asset performance and transaction due diligence support
  • Data and analytical capability, to provide solutions to infrastructure problems that harness the power of technology and AI.

The work is varied, fast-paced, often high-profile and rewarding. We are working on issues including Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), resilience of the UK’s utilities sector in the face of climate change and the future structure of the rail sector. We are looking for people with a passion for find new and innovative ways of doing things, helping our public and private sector clients to deliver some of the largest and most complex infrastructure programmes in the UK, while maintaining delivery of key business and customer outcomes.

The Role
We are seeking Assistant Managers to perform a critical role contributing to client delivery, supporting business development and helping our team to grow and develop. Key areas you will contribute to the team include:

Project Delivery

  • Creative problem solving, working with colleagues and clients at all seniority levels from day 1
  • Produce client ready deliverables (professional slides, documents or spreadsheets) that exceed expectations and help land key messages – our value doesn’t come from documents alone, but they are the artefacts we leave our clients with
  • Take ownership of workstreams within engagements and/or contribute to larger workstreams, working closely with workstream leads
  • Effective communication and collaboration with clients whilst working on engagements and act as an ‘ambassador’ for KPMG

Team Contribution

  • Contribute to the development of the team and foster a collaborative, inclusive and supportive team culture
  • Support team leaders with growing our business through production of proposals and responses to bids, and delivering well with clients to build a trusted reputation

The Person

We are seeking a professional who is proactive, able to work at pace and provide quality outputs that add value to our clients. The individual should have the ability to deal with ambiguity, structure their thinking and communicate it effectively to stakeholders.

Applicants need to display (or develop into) the following core attributes:

  • Demonstrate high levels of drive, ambition and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Bring energy and a motivation to make a real difference to our engagements
  • Bring flexibility, and an ability to adapt quickly to changing demands from our clients
  • Demonstrate some knowledge and understanding of the challenges that asset-owning organisations face now and in the future, ideally with some experience of at least one of our key sectors (Transport, Power & Utilities, Defence and Oil & Gas)
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills
