This is an exciting opportunity for a Finance Data & AI manager specialising in leading data-driven finance transformation programmes to join our growing Data Driven Transformation (DDT) team with a focus on delivering Finance data strategy and solution designs, Finance data migrations, and expanding our service offerings to drive the transformation of Finance functions through data and AI enabled technology solutions. You will work in fast-paced, cross-functional project teams utilising the latest technologies to deliver cutting-edge and transformational analytics solutions for our clients across a range of industries.
The DDT team is at an exciting stage in its growth, with significant investment in developing pioneering analytical products in the data, analytics, and visualisation space. These capitalise on KPMG’s alliances with Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Google and other technology partners.

The Finance Data Manager role will support our growth ambitions by playing an active part in these projects. It will suit a highly driven individual with deep expertise in finance processes, a strong understanding of the finance data landscape, hands-on experience with leading market solutions and platforms, and a knack for managing large and complex data transformation projects. The right candidate will be enthusiastic about work in a fast-moving environment with exposure to lots of different client challenges and will be ready to make an impact on our projects from day one.
What will you be doing?
- Design Finance Data and AI Strategy, Target Operating Model, and transformation Roadmap based on client requirements and strategies.
- Design Finance data model and data architecture for Finance functions (e.g. accounting and reporting, planning and forecasting, treasury and cash management, etc).
- Design and build Finance data products; develop data onboarding and integration strategy to streamline Finance processes and Finance reporting.
- Design, build and implement ERP/ EPM modules and solutions for Finance functions, such as designing the Chart of Account, building and implementing ERP/EPM modules for Finance reporting, consolidation, and planning
- Leading and overseeing the delivery of Finance ledger and data migration programmes, including all aspects of data analysis, chart of account mapping, creation of a data transfer process and reconciliation of data using an industry standard tool.
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline finance processes, incorporating AI capabilities where applicable, and lead their implementation to enhance efficiency in Finance processes.
- Advise clients on vendor selection to support Finance use cases and ensure alignment with business needs.
- Project management of the transformation projects in Finance functions.
- Developing and pitching proposals to a client which demonstrate a clear understanding of their business and how KPMG can support them.
- Contributing to the building of the Finance Data practice through the creation of new propositions and products.
- Leading project team, including directing the day-to-day workloads and reviewing outputs from team members
- Engagement Management role, with responsibility for project-level budgeting, resourcing, risk management, WIP management, and scope management
- Driving consistency and quality for the practice through contributing to knowledge management and documentation of leading practice methodologies
- Network building within KPMG to support the future growth of the practice
- Participating actively in and contributing to workshops and sessions with clients, across a range of sectors, e.g. retail, technology, and manufacturing
- Management of offshore and nearshore resources
What will you need to do it?
- Proven experience leading and managing finance transformation programmes, such as ledger migrations and implementation of finance data solutions
- Strong knowledge of Finance capabilities and core processes, such as accounting and reporting, planning and forecasting, payments, treasury and cash management, etc
- Familiarity with vendors and modules commonly used in Finance functions, such as Oracle, SAP, and Workday
- An understanding of financial accounting principles, double entry bookkeeping, chart of accounts, accounting rules and financial reporting requirements
- Proven experience of creating a Finance transformation strategy
- Team and people management including offshore and nearshore consultants.
- Extract/transform/load tooling
- Project management
- Data Migration reconciliation and testing
- Experience in data cleansing and manipulation and knowledge of at least one database language
- Experience of managing complex stakeholder groups in high pressure situations.
- Experience of managing people and their development in a high performing culture.
- Experience of strong Project and associated Risk Management
Skills we’d love to see/Amazing Extras:
- A degree or professional certification in Accounting and Finance (e.g. ACA, ACCA, ICAS, CMA, AAT)
- Experience in Accounting, Finance, Financial Reporting, Auditing
- Practical experience in implementing finance solutions and leading finance transformation programmes, such as ERP/EPM implementations and migrations
- Hands-on experience with Finance modules in at least one vendor (e.g. Oracle, SAP, Workday, Microsoft D365).
