SAP Production Planning(PP) Implementation Consultant 

Base Location: London, Manchester, Birmingham or Reading plus network of 20 offices nationally

The SAP S/4HANA Production Planning (PP) Consultant will be responsible for leading/supporting the functional design, configuration, and implementation of SAP S/4HANA PP modules. This role involves collaborating with business stakeholders to translate manufacturing and production planning requirements into effective SAP solutions, ensuring seamless integration with other modules and adherence to SAP best practices. The Manager will support project team to manage client expectations, and contribute to the successful delivery of S/4HANA PP solutions across various deployment models (on-premise, private cloud, public cloud).

What will you be doing?

  • Lead functional design, configuration, and implementation of SAP S/4HANA PP solutions, covering areas such as Master Data (Material Master, BOMs, Work Centers, Routings), Demand Management, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), Production Orders, Process Orders, Repetitive Manufacturing, Capacity Planning, and Shop Floor Control.
  • Conduct detailed requirements gathering workshops and fit-to-standard analysis with manufacturing and production planning stakeholders to align SAP solutions with business needs and S/4HANA capabilities.
  • Provide expert guidance on leveraging SAP S/4HANA innovations in Production Planning, including embedded analytics, Fiori apps, and integration with advanced planning solutions (e.g., IBP).
  • Design and optimize end-to-end manufacturing processes within S/4HANA, ensuring seamless integration with other modules like MM (Materials Management), SD (Sales & Distribution), QM (Quality Management), and FI/CO (Finance & Controlling).
  • Oversee data migration strategies and activities related to PP master data and transactional data.
  • Develop functional specifications for enhancements, integrations, and reports, working closely with technical teams.
  • Provide training and support to end-users and key stakeholders, ensuring successful adoption of new SAP PP functionalities.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients on S/4HANA PP-related matters, managing expectations and fostering strong client relationships.

What will you need to do it?

Functional & Solution Skills:

  • Extensive hands-on expertise in SAP S/4HANA Production Planning (PP) configuration across core functionalities (Master Data, Demand Management, MRP, Production Orders, Process Orders, Repetitive Manufacturing, Capacity Planning, Shop Floor Control).
  • Proven experience with SAP Activate Methodology, including leading fit-to-standard workshops and identifying process improvements.
  • Strong understanding of integration points between PP and other SAP modules (MM, SD, QM, FI/CO).
  • Familiarity with SAP Fiori apps for enhanced user experience in production planning and execution processes.
  • Knowledge of advanced planning concepts and integration with SAP IBP or other advanced planning systems is a plus.
  • Understanding of different S/4HANA deployment options (on-premise, private cloud, public cloud) and their implications for PP functionalities.

Experience:

  • Experience of SAP ERP experience, with time focused on SAP PP, including significant experience with S/4HANA PP.
  • Completed at least 2 full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA PP implementations (design to go-live).
  • Proven track record in leading functional teams, managing project phases, and delivering complex SAP PP solutions.
  • Experience in leading customer workshops, gathering business requirements, and translating them into SAP functional designs.
  • Ability to define functional business requirements and create detailed functional specifications for development.
  • Experience in managing client expectations and fostering strong client relationships.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing industry setting is highly desirable.
