Job description
Summary of Role Purpose:
People Consulting is an integral part of KPMG’s Management Consultancy practice and a growing part of our business. This team help to transform the performance of organisations by changing the way people are led, managed and developed. We do this by focusing on two key areas – delivering the people agenda on large scale, complex, change programmes and transforming the HR function by technology.
We help organisations to change and adapt to the environment in which they operate. Changes may be driven by decisions to digitise, to streamline, to pivot, to respond to new regulation or to harness the benefits of analytics or new technology. Or they may be driven by acquisition or disposal. Whatever the reason, our clients are continually re-designing parts of the organisation, and that’s where we come in.
Description of the role
We are looking for experienced management consultants who can lead workstreams on complex learning programmes. You will be expected to
- Lead large scale, complex consulting engagements with a Learning focus
- Identify opportunities for learning alongside other programmes of work (e.g. transformations, change) and continuing to grow our propositions and junior team.
- Increasing our capacity to support Advisory strategy through exceptional delivery on learning projects, supporting and developing team members, broader business development capacity and increased visibility for what we can do in learning and where this can bolt into existing in-flight engagements
- Scope, price and design our approach for a particular client (with support from a Partner or Director), and then to lead delivery of this work
- Lead/support business development and grow revenues from the existing work portfolio
- Use leading practice problem-solving methodologies to address client issues and structure projects
- Work and collaborate with colleagues from other service lines such as technology, finance, customer, or analytics
- Lead high-quality analysis that combines KPMG expertise and market insight with quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Act as a main client interface, providing effective, credible, and timely communications with clients
- Generate thought leadership, drive knowledge sharing and develop consulting skills within our team
- Develop the team culture, inspiring and empowering team members and supporting their career development
- Experience working in the Middle East or with clients in that region, and understanding local cultural and business practices, is a strong advantage.
Role dimensions:
Leadership and Management: KPMG's Financial Services People Consulting team comprises over 50 team members. You will be responsible for managing projects ranging in length from several weeks to multiple years and leading diverse small to large teams of consultants supported by sub-contractors and members of the client’s own staff. You will deliver projects to agreed deadlines and budgets. The focus of this role is employing complex analysis to solve client problems in areas such as regulatory changes, disruptive technology, globalisation, changing customer needs, demographics and the environment and sustainability.
Stakeholder interaction and challenges: Your clients will normally be from Financial Services sector, particularly Banking and Insurance. The ability to develop strong client relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds and at all levels of seniority, including senior leaders, will be crucial. You will effectively communicate points of view and evidence that shapes client decision making. You will be required to regularly interact with Partners, Directors, and more junior colleagues within KPMG to source insight and expertise and to provide progress updates. You will also lead or support interactions with senior members of the client’s leadership team.
Impact, Risk, Accountability and Governance: This a high-impact role. You will be responsible for developing robust problem-solving methodologies, structuring, and reviewing complex analysis, and delivering clear and effective deliverables. It is essential that you can work independently to clarify client issues and develop logical and implementable solutions to those issues, which are supported by robust analysis. You may be subject to additional background checks as part of a financial client’s due diligence.

In the area of technology implementation, we would expect experience of user adoption approaches including training and awareness.
- Versatility across both Learning and Change disciplines is highly valued. The strongest candidates will bring capability and confidence in both areas.
