The role is within the UK Infrastructure Government and Healthcare (IGH) Data Analytics, based in London. We provide a wide range of data analytics, modelling, data modelling services to our clients in a diverse range of sectors such as health, transport, policing, local and central government

• Interactive data visualisation, presentation and reporting
• Dashboard development, publishing and maintenance
• Advanced analytics including exploiting modern data science techniques like machine learning and applied statistics to extract valuable data driven insights
• Cloud-enabled analytical services
• Requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement
• Agile analytics project management and delivery
• Development and delivery of training in visual analytics solutions
Data analytics strategy design and implementation
• Developing and delivering data strategy, data operating model, data governance or data maturity programmes for public sector clients
• Supporting the implementation of data strategy and digital transformation programmes and initiatives
Business and data modelling
• Data blending and database development

• Modelling the impacts of business change, including options analysis, cost optimisation, outsourcing and other operational and financial restructuring

We work closely with teams across all functions within KPMG, such as Operational Transformation, Transaction Services, Corporate Finance, Restructuring and others. We work on some of the most exciting projects in KPMG, delivering high-quality, flexible and bespoke analytics and modelling solutions for our clients.
The Role
We are looking for a Manager to help lead work in our rapidly-growing team with strong technical expertise in data visualisation, analytics, and data modelling. The individual should have a proven track record in leading data analytics projects and have exceptional communication and presentation skills. The individual will need to establish themselves as a subject matter expert (SME) in IGH data programme delivery. Alongside this, a Manager should be a strong team player with a keen focus on the development and progression of other team members, both on engagements and in a performance manager role.
The Manager will lead projects in the following areas:
• Interactive data visualisation, presentation and reporting
• Data strategy and data maturity assessment
• Dashboard development, publishing and maintenance
• Development of analytics for public sector data strategy
• Data operating model design and data governance
• Cloud-enabled analytical services
• Requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement
• Rapid proof of concept development
• Cost benefit analysis and financial modelling
• Development and delivery of training for visual analytic solutions
• ETL, data blending and database development
• Relational and star schema data modelling
This role offers the candidate the opportunity to develop and share their extensive knowledge and experience of sophisticated data management and visual analytics techniques, as well as building on their strong data strategy and governance skills. The candidate will develop client-facing, project management and consulting skills in this role, where there will many opportunities to interact with a range of clients and build excellent relationships with them. The role requires working to tight deadlines, prioritising workload, project management and providing a high level of client service at all times. The candidate will be expected to show clear leadership capability with a track record of developing and coaching people to deliver complex analytics projects, including building a stimulating and rewarding environment for developing team members to grow and contribute.
The Person
Essential requirements
• A proven track record of delivering complex analytical products
• A numerate (computer science or maths-based) degree
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both written and oral) with proven experience of having engaged with clients at the executive and board level
• Proven expertise in delivering best-practice data visualisations and interactive dashboards
• Experience of incorporating business processes and user requirements into analytics solutions with a consistent workflow and/or actionable insight
• A passion and commitment to developing their technical knowledge in a changing environment and the willingness to share and develop this in others
• Experience of taking a lead role within a team that has delivered data analytics and strategy solutions
• Positive approach towards problem solving under pressure, including the ability to think through a problem and apply a logical, analytical approach to develop a solution
• The ability to manage time and work independently with multiple stakeholders
• Ability to quickly assimilate information and propose workable solutions
• Ability to describe complex technical issues in a clear non-technical way
• Strong enthusiasm for solving complex problems with our modelling tools with a demonstrable ability to efficiently build solutions that adhere to best practice

Desirable requirements
• A professional qualification (e.g. Microsoft SQL Certified Professional)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft BI technology stack, including SQL Server, SQL SSIS, MS Power Query, MS Power Pivot, MS Power BI
• Thorough understanding of best-practice approaches to the development of data models in Excel, Access and SQL (“our modelling tools”)
• Working knowledge and experience with Tableau
• Experience with sales leadership support and sales related skills
• Proven experience of successfully delivering data strategies and operating models
