The Role

The Forensic Data Analytics team works as part the wider Forensic Practice within Risk Consulting. We work primarily across the Financial Services industry delivering innovative data and analytics services to our clients across several areas

The Role
As a Director, you will be responsible for leading projects and programmes and coordinating project teams to deliver client outcomes. You will provide analytics and market expertise to help grow our IGH and specifically healthcare data analytics offerings across the UK. You will also contribute to the successful delivery of other KPMG services for the public sector while growing a core set of analytics services of your own related to analytics services, strategy and digital transformation.
You will have a key link to our health and care system redesign and provider improvement propositions, supporting those propositions with the right analytical capability to underpin transformation in the market.

The Person

- Modelling the impacts of business change, including options analysis, cost optimisation, outsourcing and other operational and financial restructuring








- Transaction modelling (mergers and acquisitions, buyouts, refinancing, bids and bid defence)








- Management and KPI reporting solutions








- Model build and assurance







We work closely with teams across all functions within KPMG, such as Operational Transformation, Transaction Services, Corporate Finance, Restructuring and others. We work on some of the most exciting projects in KPMG, delivering high-quality, flexible and bespoke analytics and modelling solutions for our clients.



Responsibilities







We are looking for an Analyst to join our award-winning and growing team, with technical expertise in data visualisation, analytics, and data modelling. The individual should have data analytics expertise, ideally with some public sector experience.







The Analyst will support projects in the following areas:



- Interactive data visualisation, presentation and reporting





- Business modelling







- Dashboard development, publishing and maintenance








- Cloud-enabled analytical services








- Requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement








- Rapid proof of concept development








- Data strategy and data maturity assessment








- Cost benefit analysis and financial modelling








- Development and delivery of analytics training








- ETL, data blending and database development








- Relational and star schema data modelling







This role offers the candidate the opportunity to develop their knowledge and experience of sophisticated data management and analytics techniques, whilst also developing client-facing, project management and consulting skills. The roles require working to tight deadlines, prioritising workload, project management and providing a high level of client service at all times. The level of responsibility you will be given will depend on your aptitude and willingness to learn and take on new challenges.











Experience:



We would expect the successful candidate to have many of the following experience, attributes or skills:







Core Skills







- An interest in the public sector and public sector data





- Excellent communication skills








- Working knowledge of Microsoft BI technology stack including SQL Server, SQL SSIS, NS Excel, MS Power Query, MS Power Pivot, MS Power BI








- A passion and commitment to developing their technical knowledge in a changing environment and the willingness to share and develop this in others








Desirable requirements



- A numerate (computer science or maths-based) degree





- A relevant professional qualification (e.g. Microsoft SQL Certified Professional)








- An understanding of best-practice approaches to the development of data models in Excel, and SQL (“our modelling tools”)








- Experience with leading data visualisation and analytics tools like Tableau, QlikView, Python or R








- Expertise in delivering best-practice data visualisations and interactive dashboards








- Experience of incorporating business processes and user requirements into dashboards with a consistent workflow and/or actionable insight








- Experience and or an interest in developing and implementing effective data strategies to make more effective use of data








- Positive approach towards problem solving under pressure, including the ability to think through a problem and apply a logical, analytical approach to develop a solution








- The ability to manage time and work independently








- Ability to quickly assimilate information and propose workable solutions








- Ability to describe complex technical issues in a clear non-technical way








- Strong enthusiasm for solving complex problems with our modelling tools








- Strong analytical and interpretative skill








- Sustained attention to detail
