Senior Manager - Global Banking Audit Quality - International Standards Group (ISG)

 

Description
As part of KPMG’s commitment to enhancing audit quality, this position supports the core activities of the ISG Global Banking Audit Quality team, including developing audit guidance; managing the global banking audit network; developing and delivering training; and coordinating interactions with banking regulators and KPMG engagement teams.

 

The role
— Develop and communicate global banking audit guidance and work papers
— Coordinate audit quality initiatives in the global banking audit network, including the GSIFI network (consisting of the lead partners and managers of the large bank audits) and the global banking audit forum (consisting of audit professionals from across member firms) – e.g., plan and lead workshops with audit teams, and present on various audit quality topics and emerging areas — Be a subject matter expert on bank audits, which includes reviewing audit material developed by other groups (e.g., GAMG), providing industry input into wider audit quality areas/ initiatives (e.g., updates to KCw and KAEG) and responding to queries from member firms
— Develop training materials and deliver training, which includes coordination with global and regional L&D teams
— Collaborate effectively with various groups across the KPMG network including GAMG, regional and local DPPs, other ISG audit quality and accounting teams, banking audit teams and specialists to deliver various audit quality initiatives for banks – e.g., standardisation
— Coordinate interactions with banking regulators, which includes preparing supporting materials for KPMG representatives attending meetings
— Develop thought leadership on emerging areas for banks – e.g., ESG
— Work with the partner/ director on setting the team’s strategic initiatives
— Provide coaching to more junior staff members

 

Qualifications and skills
— Possess professional qualification: ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent
— Proven technical competence: Ability to handle technical audit matters (including those related to KCw and KAEG), strong analytical and problem-solving skills — Strong desire to enhance audit quality for bank audits across the KPMG network
— Personal effectiveness: Strong organisational skills, ability to successfully manage projects on own, work effectively within teams and independently and a commitment to continuous improvement
— Strong communication skills: Ability to explain complex ideas simply, convey key messages convincingly, professional writing and confidence in presentations
— Ability to work collaboratively with others including from diverse backgrounds/ countries

—  Commitment to building the reputation of KPMG through the quality of work, knowledge and experience

 

Experience relevant to the role
— Experience working on bank audits – this preferably includes current or previous audit experience on a large global or local bank audit, and experience auditing either expected credit losses or fair value measurement of financial instruments
— Experience handling a range of technical audit matters on bank audits (including the use of KAEG and relevant accounting and audit standards) — Experience in collaborating with multiple stakeholders
— Preferably experience in deploying or monitoring audit quality initiatives – e.g., delivering training, supporting local 2LoD or coaching programmes, supporting local audit quality initiatives

Role Summary

 

The KDN team is looking for an experienced SAP Platform Architect to join the core team that helps orchestrate the various Powered SAP programmatic elements of the KDN. This Architect will lead multiple SAP deals with EMEA Member Firms s to increase KDN adoption across all SAP deals in the market along with the Member firms’ sales, Pre-Sales and solutions team.

 

How you will make your mark

Key Responsibilities:           
• Support member firms with Powered SAP specific support (like credentials, proposal preparation, demos (together with other colleagues from e.g. Sofia)
• Contribute with Thought Leadership (e.g. explain what Rise with SAP in the context of Powered SAP means and similar topics).
• Work on initiatives together with SAPNext (=future SAP Alliance)
• Help organize SAP PAN calls and other events.
• Work on cross regional/global initiatives like e.g. preparing training material for Powered Enterprise SAP (Solution Architect School).
• Liase with the Powered SAP build team in order to learn functional/technical aspects of the Powered SAP solution.
• Help connecting the MF to other SMEs inside and outside of KDN for specific opportunities.
• Helps with harvesting materials (proposals, resource plans, estimates, credentials)
• Provides Powered Trainings to MFs.

 Role Summary 

The KDN Office of the General Counsel (OGC) is responsible for managing the organisation's global legal and regulatory risk. The OGC is expanding by seeking an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer who will deliver practical and business-focused legal advice to our business and corporate services partners and work collaboratively with other KPMG network firms worldwide. This is a sophisticated generalist role, and the successful candidate will support a variety of transactional, corporate, commercial and regulatory matters.

Role Responsibilities

  • Advise on a wide range of corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.
  • Support strategic transactions including M&A, business set-ups, reorganizations, new service offerings, financings and other transformative initiatives.
  • Manage the legal due diligence process and deliver strategic advice and superior problem solving for complex legal issues.
  • Review and advise on new services and solutions including the KPMG governance process and specialized legal and regulatory issues.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of matters, including: -

 

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) or an equivalent degree with an active license to practice law in the United Kingdom or Ontario (or in receipt of necessary waivers while seeking qualification on a timely basis).
  • Experienced lawyer with at least 7 years of post-call experience with significant time spent at a major law firm ('Big 4' accounting firm and other relevant in-house experience is desirable as an add-on).
