Responsibilities
You must have a passion for ESG and to help clients develop effective, responsible corporate strategies. To be a successful Manager in ESG Strategy, applicants will be expected to:

• Design and manage ESG strategy projects, based on our propositions, on a day-to-day basis for our clients
• Articulate how our solutions assist our clients’ specific needs and develop storyboarding for proposals and client deliverables
• Generate points of view and opinions on ESG topics to take to clients and/or write market leading thought leadership
• Liaise effectively with clients whilst working on engagements and act as an ‘ambassador’ for KPMG
• Produce client ready deliverables that exceed expectations and requires limited review
• Undertake KPMG strategy training and ESG development programme
• Manage and coach more junior members of the team, to facilitate on-the-job learning
• Develop solutions to complex problems and challenge the thinking of more senior colleagues and clients
• Support the identification of on-sell / cross-sell opportunities
• Develop rapport and solid working relationships with client counterparts and maintain them outside of engagements
• Be a strong and effective team player
• Provide timely feedback and coaching to other team members

Skills, qualifications and experience required:

To succeed in this demanding role the applicants will need to demonstrate the following:

• Relevant experience of working for a strategy house, strategy area of a Big 4 firm, or central strategy team of a large company
• Strong knowledge of ESG and climate trends covering all aspects such as risks, opportunities, regulation, reporting etc
• Ability to manage client engagements on a day-to-day basis with teams ranging from 2-10 people, both on-shore and off-shore
• Proven track record of constructing detailed strategy engagements with complex ESG scenario and sensitivity analysis
• Strong analytical and storyboarding skills
• Relevant experience in on-sell / cross-sell opportunities, growth and operational costs projects
• Experience in business development activity e.g. building relationships with client counterparts during engagements
• A pragmatic approach to analysis and problem solving, able to implement structure and conceptual models in complex client environments
• Ability to assess information to distil the key strategic insights and convey these clearly and succinctly, both orally and in written form.
• An ability to work both collaboratively and individually; be comfortable developing answers and solutions including when the client requirements are ambiguous or changing.
• Track record of contributing to thought leadership and knowledge management activities
• Lead workstreams and take responsibility for small teams

The person

• Have experience in ESG strategy consulting and ideally, in circular economy services. Target areas of expertise include Circular economy concepts & case studies, business and revenue model creation, metrics and reporting processes.
