The Role

You will be a Senior Manager/Security Architect within the Corporates Cyber team helping both grow our business and also ensure our teams are able to deliver high quality advice to clients.

The world is changing with our clients increasingly looking to new digital channels and innovative service delivery models for growth. This shift brings both opportunity, but also new and developing cyber threats.

You should expect to be involved in a wide range of challenging engagements helping our clients understand how to harness digital opportunities in a safe and secure manner. As a technical cyber security Senior Manager/Security Architect you will be advising clients, amongst others, on how to leverage securely a wide range of digital technologies including cloud, APIs, big data platforms and mobile; on assessing and developing their security architecture covering both infrastructure and applications; on securely taking advantage of Agile, DevSecOps and continuous integration / continuous deployment pipelines.

Our clients are under regulatory scrutiny, but are also continually battling to match a rapidly changing cyber threat landscape while harnessing the opportunities offered by digital services. As a Senior Manager in our team, we expect you to understand the world of our clients, the complexities of modern technologies, and to be able to translate complex cyber security issues into straightforward, credible, jargon free advice to our clients; while making sure we can deliver the support they require.

Responsibilities:
Management and delivery of challenging, complex client engagements to ensure delivery, quality and value to our clients by:
• Understanding their business challenges and the threats they face
• Helping them navigate the increasingly complex cyber security regulatory environment
• Advising on digital and technical aspects of cyber security governance, frameworks and operating models
• Helping them optimise their approach to digital and technical cyber security controls and risk management
• Assisting them in harnessing new digital channels and technologies opportunities
• Using Security Architecture in the definition of their security transformation

The Person

• Track record within security community showing understanding of the business, threat and regulatory issues faced by clients (essential)
• Proven experience of understanding and managing aspects of cyber risk in a digital world, including advice on how to embed security into digital channels (essential)
• Proven experience of delivering one or more of the following areas: security architecture (enterprise architecture, infrastructure or application architecture), cloud security (assessments, privacy and regulatory risks management, security frameworks and controls), DevSecOps, securing digital strategy and transformation (essential)
• Proven experience of delivering security in one or more of the following cloud service provider environments: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Oracle Cloud (essential)
• Proven experience in managing the security aspects of technologies such as APIs; big data platforms; mobile platforms; microservices; high-throughput, low-latency data feed platforms; automation and orchestration
• Proven ability to produce thought leadership material and engage as a subject matter expert with senior audiences and security professional communities
• Proven experience of successfully managing complex cyber security services in a commercial environment, ensuring the delivery of high quality work on time and to budget
• Proven ability to lead work at sustained levels of high intensity, and inspire drive and resilience in others

The Team:
This year has seen the establishment of KPMG’s Connected Technology practice, this creates significant scale and opportunity to bring the best of KPMG’s technology services and solutions to our clients.
We are looking for individuals with a wide range of experience to help us take the best of KPMG to priority clients in our regional offices, designated as key due to their position in the market, kudos in a local community, and/or forward-looking strategy.

This role will be focussed on the sale and delivery of KPMG Connected Technology services and solutions, working as part of cross-functional consulting teams, to these priority accounts.
There will be two teams, which are being formed in pursuit of these clients: “Midlands and South” region and the “North and Scotland” region, each led by a Director in our market-facing technology teams. Each Director will be supported by two Senior Managers. The prime focus of the teams will be being the identification and creation of new revenue streams, bringing new clients to the firm.
The expectation is that this team will both sell and deliver work, with a focus on sales in the current financial year. It is envisaged that as a point of continuity, the individual responsible for the sale will remain involved in the engagement in some way, at a minimum providing input and oversight, with a view to building longer term relationships with these accounts.

The Role:
The role of a Connected Technology Senior Manager within this team will be required to carry out the following activities:
- Business Development
Understand, and be able to position the firm’s Technology and broader Consulting propositions and services;
Independently and actively research and identify clients and opportunities;
Assist in the creation of a plan for the current financial year, regarding the type of pursuits and specific client targets;
Build profitable, long-term relationships with clients built on trust and thought leadership;
Lead pursuits and win work with clients;
Work closely with other parts of KPMG consulting and the wider KPMG businesses to deliver the best solutions for our clients;
Leverage experience from previous clients to provide offerings applicable to our priority accounts;
Create and manage strong relationships with Partners, Directors, and the Business Development community across the regional offices; and
Assist in the identification, creation and execution of relevant external events that generate opportunities, which are then converted into sales.
