The Team

Within the FS IT Audit team, our work involves providing consultancy, assurance, advice and attestation to clients on their IT systems and processes. Our focus is on IT risk management, IT controls testing, IT project assurance, and the technology and data aspects of regulation. This work is delivered through stand-alone assignments, large scale consulting projects and as part of external and internal audit engagements.

The Role

Our Financial Services department in the South West Region delivers a range of audit and advisory engagements across a broad spectrum of clients. The Responsibilities:

You will manage and deliver pensions audit engagements from planning through to completion. The role will require proficiency in UK GAAP and the Pensions SORP. You will have your own portfolio of clients with responsibility for agreeing audit timetables, working with Trustees and scheme administrators, briefing the audit team, including other specialists, monitoring budgets and supervising the KPMG audit process. This will include:
• To manage a portfolio of pensions audit engagements, overseeing in-charge and audit assistants work ensuring compliance with client, statutory and KPMG requirements, appreciating relevant internal and external market factors, ensuring the effective and timely delivery of high quality audit engagements
• Oversee and direct the budgeting, planning, co-ordination and control of engagements in accordance with client, statutory, KPMG and business requirements to ensure effective service delivery and maximised recoverability

We are the in-house tax team for KPMG International(“KPMGI”). This is a unique opportunity to work inan internal rather than client-facing KPMG team.

KPMGI carries on business activities for the overall benefit of KPMG networkfirms, but does not provide professional services to clients. One of themain purposes of KPMGI is to facilitate the provision by KPMG network firms ofhigh-quality audit, tax, and advisory services to their clients. The in-house tax team for KPMGI works on awide and varied range of tax matters across direct and indirect tax. We drive the tax strategy, whichmeans understanding KPMGI’s business requirements and interacting with avariety of internal and external stakeholders to provide tax advice and ensurethat tax obligations are met around the world. Like many in-house tax teams, KPMGI outsources its compliance and also appointsadvisors to assist on specific projects. The role reports into aLondon based Tax Director, with the Head of Tax based in the US.
Other than the Head of Tax, all of thein-house direct and indirect tax team are based in London.


The successful applicant will demonstrate anentrepreneurial attitude by working on a variety of advisory and complianceprojects. You will need to be capable of taking ownership of tasks and thinkingthrough technical and business issues, and will relish a role which isconstantly changing according to the needs of the business and the requirementsof the KPMG network firms globally. We are however a close knit team and youwill receive guidance and support from other team members to develop and growin this dynamic environment.

Typically, projects involve interaction with other teams within KPMGI (e.g.commercial, legal, finance) and with the tax team at the relevant KPMG memberfirm. With the support and guidance of other in-house tax team membersprojects might include:

• Being responsible for tax compliance filings in a number of differentjurisdictions, including overseeing the gathering of information, managingadvisors and reviewing tax returns.
• Dealing with enquiries from local tax authorities.

The Role



KPMG’s Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC) helps defend KPMG and its clients from cyber attack through timely detection, investigation, and remediation of potential threats. The Platform Security Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery of all services provided by GSOC Engineering, working collaboratively with a variety of service stakeholders and vendors identifying improvements, driving efficiency, and ensuring effective performance. Deputy GSOC Infrastructure Services Manager, reporting to GSOC Infrastructure Services Manager, will be part of a team working in a fast-paced environment driving enablement, performance, service maturity, and reliability of the GSOC infrastructure services on Physical and Cloud platforms, as well as all service components associated with the services provided by the GSOC.


•Responsible for timely management of GSOC infrastructure services and projects by creating timelines, adhering to budgets, and assigning staff members.
•Responsible for defining and implementing an overarching service strategy consistent with ITIL Version 3 practices integrated into the GSOC Service Management framework.
•Coordinate with various vendors, other KPMG teams, and business stakeholders on work related to design and setup activities at different stages of a technical project.
•Custodian of all the necessary documentation for all system designs, builds, and modifications.

•Proven ability with RSA SecOps and Security Analytics is essential. Ability in other SOC applications is highly desirable.
•Experience of Azure and O365 management and security logging capabilities.
•Understanding of content management and writing detection logic on SIEM platforms.
•Understanding of security vulnerabilities in common operating systems, web, and applications, including knowledge of remediation procedures.
•Solid technical background in a hosted services environment - physical and cloud infrastructure, networks, hardware, and software.
