Data & AI Director – Data Management
Many of our clients are undergoing rapid digital & data transformation, leveraging data to enable readiness for AI & Generative AI (GenAI), drive operational efficiencies, and mitigate reputational, financial and regulatory risks via effective data management. Our highly specialised Data & AI team works across the data lifecycle to enable end to end management, governance, and usage of data, to create Data & AI solutions that produce tangible business value.
Our UK-based Chief Data Officer (CDO) Advisory team collaborates globally with KPMG's business, data, engineering and cloud specialists to design and implement state-of-the-art data solutions, AI systems, and products. We work across diverse industries, including Financial Services, Retail, Public Sector, Healthcare, Energy, and Utilities, enabling data driven decision-making and automation.

Roles & Responsibilities
Technical Leadership:
- Lead and manage teams developing Data Management solutions for enterprise-scale challenges, including:
- Data Lineage, Quality, and Data Controls
- Data Products & Cataloguing
- Metadata Management
- Data Risk Management
- Regulatory driven Data Management and transformation
- Data Readiness & Governance for AI & GenAI Enablement.
Business Development & GTM:
- Develop market-facing Data Management offerings to drive revenue growth.
- Work closely with industry sector teams to tailor Data Management solutions for specific market needs.
- Shape Data Driven transformation programmes and secure new business opportunities through innovative Data & AI solutions.
- Drive RFP responses and business development efforts, crafting compelling proposals that showcase technical excellence and commercial viability.
- Contribute to Data Management thought leadership by authoring white papers, participating in industry panels, and presenting at industry conferences / events.
People:
- Play a key role in the leadership team, driving the growth and development of our Data Management capability.
- Support team expansion through hiring, mentoring, and coaching colleagues to foster a high-performing, inclusive culture.
- Contribute to knowledge management, ensuring best practices, insights and innovations are effectively shared across the team.
- Oversee resource planning and process optimisation, enhancing operational efficiency and scalability.
The Person
- Significant experience in Data Management and/or other related capabilities in one or multiple industries.
- BSc (MSc or PhD preferred) in Computer Science, STEM, or similar technical field.
- Strong background in programme management, transformation, and delivery, with a track record of large scale programme delivery.
- Proficient with relevant tooling (e.g. Solidatus, Collibra).
- Up-to-date knowledge and hands-on experience relevant regulations across industries.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong planning and organisation skills to work with a high-performance team, handle demanding clients and multitask effectively.
