We are currently looking for a Senior Manager who can make significant contributions to the FS Operations team with a specific focus on Capital Markets, through sector expertise, client engagement, identification and delivery of new business opportunities. You will help grow the Capital Markets business by contibuting to for revenue targets, expanding the pipeline of opportunities and developing value propositions for the market in which we operate.  We are looking for an experienced individual who is highly motivated, passionate about what they do and can add further to the continued success of our market leading capital markets advisory team.

 

Description of the role:

  • Manage programmes and projects through all key stages of a transformation initiative, from diagnostic to implementation. 

  • Proactive management and delivery of large, complex client engagements to ensure the following are carried out:

  • Design and approach so our services meet client needs

  • Scoping and production of deliverables

  • Project and financial management

  • Review of team deliverables for quality and risk purposes

  • Liaising with clients on delivery and implementation issues

  • Identifying business development opportunities

  • Pro-actively identifying and progressing business opportunities for the long-term benefit of both the client and KPMG as well as managing sales activities such as proposal writing and leading client presentations.

  • Demonstrating an understanding of KPMG’s broader offerings to enable identification of business opportunities Lead engagements / workstreams in consulting services covering i) advisory and implementation support, and ii) post implementation independent reviews

  • Business development support across key market propositions including challenging new models of delivery and operational changes

  • Manage and mentor teams of 4-5 people

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships within the sector, leveraging proven industry content and delivery capability

Role dimensions:

Leadership & Management:

Perform a senior role in delivery of engagements as required.  Able to mentor and coach members of the team alongside fulling a key role in account and sector development within Capital markets, assisting senior management to build the top line.

Stakeholder Interaction & challenges:

Proven ability to develop and convert a pipeline of opportunities into sales.  Strong bid management abilities, with experience of the consulting sales cycle from RfP through to implementation. 

Build and maintain strong client relationships within the sector, leveraging proven industry content and delivery capacity.

Impact, Risk, Accountability & Governance:

Proven ability to work as an Engagement Manager on sold projects, ensuring that risk is appropriately management across all aspects.

Experience around taking responsibility for financials, billing and WIP on sold engagements.

  • Programme / project management transformation skillset with proven ability to work as an Engagement Manager on sold work.  Perform a senior role on delivery of engagements as required.

  • Proven ability / track record of consulting sales, converting opportunities or on-sell of current sold work

  • Solution development – showing a clear ability as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to enhance existing solutions, and develop new ones, with specific emphasis on transformation and best practice

  • Demonstrable expertise in building, maintaining and leveraging relationships (internal and external)

  • Experience in leading and managing teams

  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.  Proven ability to present to senior level / C-Suite decision makers.

  • Business development – proven ability to build client relationships alongside contributing to building capital market propositions that meet client requirements alongside senior management.

The Person:

Essential experience

  • In-depth experience gained in either buy-side, sell-side or financial market infrastructure firms (or consulting experience in these areas) with exposure to shaping and delivering significant transformation change programmes.  Key topics could include significant business and technology projects (e.g. migration to new platforms, development of new business solutions, legal entities migrations) or responding to capital markets regulatory driven changes (i.e. T+1, post trade and settlements regulation)

  • In-depth understanding of the key industry, market and regulatory drivers shaping the industry and an ability to articulate these by way of client opportunities. 

  • Demonstrable knowledge of financial markets trends and with understanding of key transformation themes in capital markets and knowledge in at least one asset class / financial services regulation / function

  • Experience in leading multiple, diverse and complex client programmes and having accountability for managing resources, potential over-runs, billing and recovery.

  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.  Self-starter and strong team player. 

  • Ability to inspire, lead and manage a team

  • Excellent client communication and senior stakeholder management skillset
