We are looking to recruit a US Private Client Tax Manager to be based in our London office. The role will involve working closely in a strong team on a range of clients and exciting projects, collaborating with different teams and locations across the firm, as well as helping build a new US tax practice in a Big 4 firm.
Roles and Responsibility
As a US/UK tax manager, you will be required to manage all aspects of the tax compliance process and the wider client relationship management. You will be required to lead and assist on advisory projects involving various tax and residency queries whilst developing and maintaining client relationships, under the support of a senior manager and/or director.
Aside from the technical role, you will be involved in the continuing building and development of a new US tax team within a Big 4 firm and expected to have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and constructively at a variety of levels with clients, their other professional advisors and your colleagues.
Experience with:
- Managing the complete compliance process whilst ensuring work meets expected standards, including minimising risk and ensuring an excellent level of client service is maintained throughout.
- Reviewing US tax returns and communicating points back to the team, and signing out completed tax returns as agreed with senior staff
- Line managing junior staff.
- Delegating work to other members of the team and having the ability to train and develop their understanding in both technical and soft skills.
- Knowledge of other areas of tax (such as estate/gift tax, IHT and corporate tax) and to be able to identify when to involve other experts within the company
- Client management and building relationships, ensuring all internal and external deadlines are met.
- Taking the lead on the billing processes and working towards prompt payments.
What we require from you:
Essential:
- EA and ATT qualified.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including providing a high standard of service to clients.
- The desire to take ownership of your career and development.
- Experience working in a US/UK tax role; currently an experienced Assistant Manager or a new/experienced Manager.
- Experience of reviewing and signing out US tax returns and dealing with client tax requirements
- Experience managing junior staff.
- A keen and insightful appreciation of the issues facing clients and an ability to deliver bespoke tax solutions to meet their needs.
