Role and Responsibilities

  • Leading UK inbound engagements including advisory and compliance related services. 
  • Overseeing service delivery including drafting and signing off advice, adhering to SLAs and KPIs, reviewing casework on an as needed basis.
  • Advising on complex cross-border immigration issues. 
  • Supporting the team with complex issues including escalations, delivering solutions and viable options. 
  • Identifying opportunities including use of technology to solve clients’ problems and improve client service delivery, co-managing the rollout of new technology to clients.
  • Participating in client proposals and presentations, identifying and maximising new opportunities across various business sectors in the UK and overseas. 
  • General practice management: monitoring team members’ performance, identifying the team’s training, development and staffing requirements, ensuring the team receives sufficient support and coaching.
  • Taking on a Performance Manager role and contributing to the team’s overall development.
  • Acting as the contact person for queries and fee requests from overseas offices.  Provision of support and assistance to the Director/Partner in relation to team, client service and financial strategies.
  • Risk and Finances: Leading on Risk Management, overseeing new client onboarding, scoping services, contracting, pricing, overseeing all aspects of financial management.

Experience Required

  • This is a growing team and the role will suit an ambitious and highly experienced immigration professional with the desire and ability to play a significant leadership role in continuing that growth.
  • There will be an expectation that the successful applicant will help promote the team’s work through participating in team and firm events, giving internal and external presentations, and producing articles for publication. 
  • The successful applicant will demonstrate a high level of business acumen both in terms of commercial analysis and current trends.
  • They will produce consistently high-quality work within demanding time frames but will not be afraid to challenge the status quo in the spirit of continuous improvement and raising the bar on personal and team performance. 
  • The successful applicant will have a proven track record across the breadth of UK corporate and private client immigration work. 
  • The applicant will also have experience advising alongside other professionals such as tax or mobility specialists and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the immigration elements of cross-border transactions.

The applicant will have experience of handling a wide range of corporate and private/family immigration matters encompassing the following:

  • Work Visas (Skilled Worker, SSW)
  • Foreign company set up in the UK
  • Discretionary applications
  • Sponsor licence applications and associated ongoing compliance and advisory work
  • Family applications
  • EUSS
  • Immigration audits
  • Prevention of illegal working/Right to Work
  • Student and Graduate routes
  • Global Talent, Innovator, Investor
  • Internal immigration policy/process design
  • Right of Abode
  • Citizenship
  • Bespoke immigration projects

Education and Qualifications

  • KPMG is looking for a confident client-facing immigration professional, preferably legally qualified, with strong technical and inter-personal skills. 
  • It is expected that the successful applicant will have at least 10 years of relevant immigration experience, preferably already with Senior Manager experience in a Big 4 or equivalent firm.
